[291] HISTORY: He had land south of the Hudson-Athens ferry slip as well as in the Kinderhook area. In 1705 he was a deacon in the Lutheran Church and in 1720 he was listed as a freeholder in Claverack. He was an Indian interpreter at all of the great meetings for many years. On Oct 24, 1724, he deeded property to his "sons, Gerrit and Jacob, who have dutifully assisted and supported me in my old age."
