[116] HISTORY: At the age of sixteen Ione married Andrew Jackson Richard. They moved to Bishop,, California and there first child was born to them on 12 July 1910. They moved back to Alamo in 1912 and built their first ranch. Their son Newton was born 1 Mary 1913. Ione's husband ran the first mail line in Alamo. Andrew trapped for the government so they moved to a ranch above his Father's place. After a few years Andrew's father moved to Calient so Ione and Andrew moved into their home. Ione took her two children and her neice Elma Robinson to Panaca to finish high school. Ione got word that her mother was ill so she had to move back a few days before her children graduated. Their son Newton was taken suddenly ill with flu meningitis. He died on his 19th birthday. Ione and Andy moved to Ash Springs with their daughter. Andy took ill and had to be hospitalized in Caliente. He passed away 27 July 1958. Ione broke her hip in October 1972, and was taken to the hopsital in Las Vegas. She passed away Dec. 7, 1972. She had 16 great grandchildren.
