MARRIAGE: She married her first cousin, Byron Averett, son of Elisha Averett and Sarah Jane Witt.
DEATH: Sonora died in Mesa, Arizona at the home of a daughter, was taken to Twin Falls, Idaho for funeral and burial.
HISTORY: When Sonora was about 10 years old her parents moved to a land of new oppportunity, Shumway, Arizona. Sonora was known as one of the prettiest girs in all southern Utah. She had long black hair and flashing black eyes. Music was a central part of their lives. Sonora and Byron finally sold out and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to retire, but Washington was still their home. In 1947 Sonora was so ill that she was carried into her daughters room and within a few days she passed away into a coma and the rest of the family was sent for. Sonora passed away in her daughters home on 23 January 1948. She was buried in Twin Falls where she and her husband had purchased a plot years before.
