MARRIAGE: She married her first cousin, Byron Averett, son of Elisha Aver ett and Sarah Jane Witt.

DEATH: Sonora died in Mesa, Arizona at the home of a daughter, was take n to Twin Falls, Idaho for funeral and burial.

HISTORY: When Sonora was about 10 years old her parents moved to a lan d of new oppportunity, Shumway, Arizona. Sonora was known as one of th e prettiest girs in all southern Utah. She had long black hair and flash ing black eyes. Music was a central part of their lives. Sonora and Byr on finally sold out and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to retire, but Wash ington was still their home. In 1947 Sonora was so ill that she was carr ied into her daughters room and within a few days she passed away int o a coma and the rest of the family was sent for. Sonora passed away i n her daughters home on 23 January 1948. She was buried in Twin Falls wh ere she and her husband had purchased a plot years before.
