Marriages of brothers and sisters. Met Mormon missionaries. Family baptized, 1835. Spiritual manifestations. Moved to Caldwell County, Missouri. Mob activities. Moved to Illinois, finally settling in Pike County. Death of father. Learned wheelwright trade. Trips to Nauvoo. Destruction of Nauvoo Temple. Traveled to California gold fields, 1849. Camp experiences. Left because of poor health. Journeyed by ship to Nicaragua, New Orleans and up river to home in Illinois. Married Nancy Turngeaugh. Partnership making wagons.
