NOTES: Big Joe raised a family of boys that the writer knew three of the m. Their names all ended with "son". Richison, Addison, Anderson, Eilso n. These three I knew, all large men, Richison, the eldest was the small est of the three. Elison and Addison wieghed from 300 to 340 lbs. Ther e was Wilkison and Harrison who said to be the tallest man of the all, wa s nearly eight feet tall. Richison volunterred and went to the Mexican W ar. he made a gallant soldier, and when the war came between the state s he joined the Confederate Army and was made Captain of his Co. When pea ce was made he returned home, finding it unsafe to remain at home, he com e to my grandfathers and taught school on the farm, I now own where the T inker Dave Beaty crowd dared not come for fear of Col John Hughes and hi s men.
