BIOGRAPHY: The following account of William Jackson Stewart is given in t he Stewart Clan Magazine, June 1947, Vol XXIV: No. 12: William Jackson S tewart (Jefferson,David,Joseph,Samuel) born Jan 4, 1831, at Livingston, O verton County Tenn., married at the village of Sulphur in that county i n 1859 Mary Poston, who was born Sep 8, 1841, at Livingston, daughter o f Hiram and Mahala (Lee) Poston. He died in 1919 at Sulphur and Mary die d in 1929 at the same place. Children all born at Oak Hill, except the t wo youngest, who were born at Sulphur.

NOTES: The tombstone records for William Jackson states 27 Jan 1834 as b irth date while Stewart Clan Magazine claims 4 Jan 1831. Tombstone als o records birth date of Mary Poston as 9 Sep 1840 while Stewart Clan Maga zine records 8 Sep 1841.
