!BIRTH: On 9-2-1704 Dr. John Stewart made a will with James Simpson, Samuel Knowles & Roger Corbett as witnesses. In his will, proven in court, in Sussex Co., DE on 1-13-1705, he lists as one of his children, John Jr.

BIOGRAPHY: RESEARCH BY JOYCE LINDSTROM: John Stewart Jr. bought land with his brother, William, in 1721 at Walton's Choice on Long Bridge Branch (Shrewsbury Township, Monmouth Co.,NJ). He bought more land in 1724 from Abraham Potter on Mills Creek's Branch of the Broad Kill Creek (Sussex Co., Del). On May 19, 1748 he made a deposition stating he was 54 years old. He left a will dated 1 Oct 1755 in Sussex Co., Del. which was proven 23 Nov 1756. In his will he names hi wife Mary and the following children: John Albertus, Levina, and Elizabeth. According to John's will, one daughter married William Stevenson and he also ha two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth Stewart.
BIOGRAPHY: Received from the database of Mary Stewart Hicks: John obtained a warrant Oct. 14, 1717 for 200 acres of land in Sussex Co., MA, adjoining Samuel Stewart's land. He also got a warrant at Philadelphia Sept. 15, 1718, for 200 acres adjoining his Stepfather, Thomas Davock. He was made administrator of hi older brother David's estate on Feb. 25, 1718, and probably assumed the care of David's children. John and William bought 1666 acres of land Feb.7,1720. Bough 125 acres 11/4/1724. He got a warrant 12/15/1736 for 100 acres of land on a branch of Broad Kill.
