[282] Rebecca Stewart Forbis was born at Edna, Johnson, Arkansas, on 20 Jan 1870, the oldest child of Christopher Columbus and Frances Marie Acord; granddaughter of William Marion and Luesa Luvina Alis (Swift) Stewart; and great granddaughter of John Dean and Hardenia B. (Clough) Swift. Rebecca Stewart Forbis lived in Johnson County, Arkansas until she was 19 years of age. She knew her two grandmothers personally. She also know her great grandmother Jennie Stewart. She knew many of their children who made the wagon trip from Henry County, Tennessee to Johnson County, Arkansas about 1835. She is the source of many of the stories in this book.
