[217] NOTES: Joseph does not show up on the 1820, 1830 Overton Co. censuses. He was in Bledsoe Co. on land he had surveyed. By 1827 he was back in Overton Co. and the deed shows he bought 55 acres on Roaring River from Caleb Willis. Less than a year later, in Apr. 1828, he deeded the 55 acres to James Dodson, his brother in law. The witnesses to the deed were David Stewart, Mark Robertson and Adam Gardenhire. He doesn't show up any more after this in Overton Co., he went to Arkansas about 1828; SOURCE: Mary Stewart Hicks, World Ancestry Tree.
