Notes: John served in the Black Hawk Indian War as a private in Capt. Ju lius L Barnsback County of Mounted Volunteers of the first Regiment of Ge neral Whiteside. He mustered out of the service at the mouth of Fox Rive r, Illionis May 28, 1832. For his service in this war, his children rece ived a bounty land warrant.
