Bill and Charlotte Lamb
There was never a family more fun and more entertaining than the Lambs...To be a Lamb is to be fun and funny! Their children were Billy, Dolly, Jessie, Carty, Gladys, Press and Archie.
Billy married Mayme Paris and she was just as fun! Dolly married Clair Stewart, Jessie married David Stewart, Carty married Thelma Shumway, Press married Jane Thorne and Gladys married Art Thompson.
Carty, Gladys and Press were all, at one time or another, part of the gang I ran with.
All the Lambs down through the years (and even today) have that ready wit, vivid imagination and ability to entertain and make us laugh. In addition to this they were and are thoughtful and caring people. Source: Theresa Wadsworth
!BIRTH; !DEATH; !BURIAL: Picture of headstone in Alamo Cem., Alamo, Lincoln, Nevada reads: Father, William Samuel Lamb, born 24 Dec 1863, died 22 May 1924. Researcher: Georgenia Stewart, 14 Oct 1999.
BIOGRAPHY: William Granger Lamb came to Nevada from Utah. He was born in southern Utah in 1892, a son of William Lamb and Charlotte Granger Lamb.
Marion (Mayme) paris was born in Silver Reef, Utah. She came to Alamo when she was 12 years old. On July 29, 1913, she and William G. Lamb were married. To them were born eleven children.
All the children grew up and attended school in Alamo. All the boys grew up riding horses and doing rodeo stunts, mostly in the corrals where the horses were cared for. At any rate, they became excellent horsemen, as was their father.
"Billy" as he was known to everyone, was a general handi-man, doing all sorts of work and being very good at it, too. His main interest was in cattle and horses and he rode for others frequently. He served as Janitor of the school for several years, where his ready wit made him a favorite with teachers and children.
He was assisting at a rodeo in Fallon, Nevada, when a fractrous horse headed for the crowd. Billy attempted to stop the horse and in so doing was fatally injured. Source: "The History of Pahranagat Valley" by Louise B. Stewart.
