Alternate marriage date is 5 Mar 1862, Salt lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. I think this is the temple marriage date.
NOTES: In an effort to find when Christopher Granger emigrated, a check was
made in the church emigration records. We were fortunate to find that
Christopher sailed Jan 10, 1852, on the Ship, "Kennebec". Along with
him was his mother, Jane Grainger, age 74, and a Mary A. Carr, age 10,
also Ann Carr, age 34. The residence given at the time of sailing was
163 High Street, Sunderland in Durham. Again we were fortunate in as
much as the 1851 census is on microfilm here in the Library. A search
was made for 163 High Street, where we found that Christopher was living
with his sister, Ann Carr, and her daughter, Mary Ann Carr.
In the census Christopher gave the information that he was a widower and was born in Asenby, which is the parish of Topcliffe Yorkshire. No doubt it is new information to you that Jane Horner came to America. The only endowment card filed for her is under Mrs. Wm. Granger, born Topcliffe Yorkshire. This was done at the Instance of Charlotte, S. H. Haight a great-granddaughter.
An endowment card for William gave Arsenby as his birth place., and the name of his mother is Mary Thornby . This information will no doubt be proven with further research. It would appear that Christopher was re-baptized on March 8, 1857 at Mill Creek. SOURCE: LDS Genealogical Society, Research Dept., Henry E. Christiansen, Supt.
[73] Alternate marriage date was 5 Mar 1862, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. This is possibly their temple marriage date.
