The following is from A History of Two Families by Clayton Boyce and Dori s Forbes Boyce, information provided by Linda Mae Boyce-Morgan:

George Ernest "Dick" Boyce was born November 14, 1897 (Nobody rememb ers why he was called "Dick"). He lost his life by drowning on August 15 , 1913, in St. Paul Minnesota. There are conflicting stories about Dick B oyce. My dad told me that Dick ran away from home when he was 16 years ol d. An account in the Friday Harbor Journal of August 21, 1913 states tha t Dick had left home several weeks prior, to visit relatives in Spokane , Washington, and had not been heard from since. His parents had no ide a he was in Minnesota. According to the Journal account, Dick was drowne d while swimming with four other companions in an effort to find relief f rom the heat. Dick is buried in the Valley Cemetery next to his parents.
