The following is from A History of Two Families by Clayton Boyce and Dori s Forbes Boyce, information provided by Linda Mae Boyce-Morgan:

Neil Atwell Boyce was born on September 25, 1906. He lived on San Ju an Island all his life. I have a good visual recollection of Uncle Neil , but I do not know much about his life. I remember that for a time he wa s the skipper of the cannery buyer boat Nereid, which was owned by the Fr iday Harbor Canning Company. My cousin John Wade told me recently about b eing the engineer on this vessel at age 12, when help was hard to come b y because of World War II.
Later in his life, Neil worked at the hardware store in Friday Harbor. H e may have been working there when his illness overtook him.
Neil was married to Edna Gerard of Friday Harbor, who is deceased. They h ad one daughter who is also deceased.
Uncle Neil died of cancer at an early age in 1957. He is buried in t he Valley Cemetery on San Juan Island, where his parents and other relati ves are buried.
